 Smooth, Handy, Powerful, but dead - twice The stylus is a very useful little tool for work in the home and doing automotive modifications. If only it lasted. Seems the charging stand, when used as directed, as a cradle for the dremel which keeps it constantly charged seems to destroy the tool's seemingly delicate Li-Ion battery. On top of the heat that the tool generates when it is running, my Stylus - first and second one, only lasted for about 4 months of occasional use (i would say, maybe once a week, for about 5 or 6 minutes). First one i bought would not stay on for more than about 45 seconds - this is after the initial charging period- and then would not turn on at all, returned it got another one, this one worked great until recently when it started doing the OFF after 45 seconds bit, which is hit or miss if it will even turn on. All signs point to a dead Li-Ion battery, after only a few months. Which would stand to reason that if the charging dock stays hot, and the thing gets too hot to hold after about 3 minutes of use, it will destroy its battery very quickly. Excellent idea, powerful product but still needs a little work. Will be calling support at 1-800-437-3635, hopefully they will work with me.  Best Dremel Ever I borrowed this Dremel model from a friend to drill holes into glass for making hanging mobiles. I loved it so much that I had to buy my own. It's lightweight and has mutiple speeds which makes it nice to control. An Amazing Tool No One Should Be Without! I bought this dremel with my tax refund. I had wanted one for a while and have used them before, though it has been many years. My fiancee found it easy to use as well and he has no tool experience. I wish the battery lasted for two hours. I used it the first time to remove some sharp gouges out of the metal on a walker, strip the paint off of it so we could repaint it, and added holes in the metal for a basket. It did all of this with minimal fuss, though I do recommend getting an additional attachment kit. This is the most used tool in my tool box now.  Lightweight, but lightweight I like that it doesn't weigh a lot, and it's comfortable to use, but the battery doesn't hold a charge for as long as I'd like, so some of the filing and drilling that I'm doing in jewelry fabrication (20 ga. metals) is taking multiple sessions, while the battery recharges, for a single piece of jewelry. | |||||||||
