Best grinder for the price
This is great Delta equipment! Well, there is always exception to the rule.
Grinding stones are really good, and even tool rest is suitable. I use Veritas tool rest on one weal and Delta's on another. What most surprised me is that the grinder does not have arbor run-out. This is really uncharacteristic for Delta. Has Delta been sold out by Black & Decker?

Had no problems whatsover...
This assembled with ease...everything fit perfectly...while the two wheels are labeled the same, it is rather obvious that the gray wheel (60 grit) is the coarse wheel and the white wheel (80-100 grit?) is the fine wheel...it really doesn't matter what they are labeled...the grinder started up right away and everything functioned perfectly...once I was sure it worked okay and everything fit, I yanked off the spark guards/eye shields, the tables, and the wheel covers and put my buffing wheels on as that is what I really bought this for...cotton sewn buffing wheel on the right and yellow starched buffing wheel on the left, as this is actually going to be used as a bench buffer for my pipes...the variable speed option and the light make cleaning and polishing the stems and bowls a snap...a little tripoli on the left and carnauba wax on the right and I tried it out on an inexpensive Kaywoodie pipe and I am very pleased...overall a great product and a great buy for the price!

Poor Quality Control
I purchased this unit and found a couple problems with it. For one, they left a burr on the arbor that caused the left wheel to tilt noticably - not very good at 3500RPM! Also, both wheels were labeled identically, even though they were obviously different grits, and different colors. Needless to say, this unit went back, and my desire for Delta gear has lessened.

I will say that the dual-speed option is very nice. I almost kept it to make it into a buffing station, but figured I could save several dollars by not buying wheels or guards.

On another note, I purchased this to use with a Wolverine sharpening system. None of the current Delta units will work with the Wolverine since the mounting holes do not allow one to center the Wolverine base unit centered directly under the wheel.
